Paul Bolger
A Design (Communications) graduate of W.I.T. Ireland, Paul has been working in the international animation and film business since 1987. He has enjoyed a wide and extremely successful career as one of Irelands homegrown but internationally acclaimed premier animation designers, directors and filmmakers.
Paul has brought his experience and consultancy skills to all types of projects; from major feature films to television series and video games as far afield as the UK, EU and Eastern Europe, and with Australia and the USA. He has also taught at the world-renowned Ballyfermot and Dún Laoghaire animation colleges in Dublin, Ireland.
For the sins of a previous life Paul owned and operated Dagda Film Ltd. A Dublin based animation service studio that employed over 50 people and delivered animation, design and development services to international productions and clientele in the early to mid-1990´s.
After closing Dagda Film’s doors in 1995 Paul returned to developing his creative strengths and enjoy music, painting and photography as other outlets for self-expression. Having played his first show in front of an audience in 1983 Paul has been in and out of the music business since. Balancing a movie career with a love of song-writing and performing his longest and most productive period was in the mid to late 1990´s when he released The Moss House album and Peacemaker EP respectively.
Painting is also a big attraction for Paul. He dabbles in acrylics, pastels and any other medium within arm´s reach. He also enjoys the flexibility and the seemingly unlimited palettes and possibilites of digital art and software.
During the production of the feature Happily NEver After in Berlin Paul returned to another love - Photography. He plans to pursue this more seriously in the future... as well as drawing comics, recording his latest songs, learning how to paint with oils, craft ceramics, tackle sculpture and anything else creative he can think of before time runs out.
